Every day I look at the dots around me and find ways to connect them—that’s my superpower. I can connect the dots and arrive at solutions that others cannot see. It may not sound like much, and compared to being able to fly or stop world wars, it’s not, but at UpTop, connecting the right dots can mean the difference between a good result and a great one.
Before I completed an MBA at the University of Washington, I lived in Japan for five years. Of the many things I learned there, one was to hire smart people and then get out of their way and allow them to flourish. (I also learned that even monkeys fall from trees, but that’s another story.) For UpTop, my task is to ensure we’re positioned to make the most of each employee’s talents and abilities, allowing them to bring their best to every project.
For our clients, I offer my ability to listen and identify how we can solve their problems and address their challenges to arrive at an optimal and, sometimes, unexpected solution. Connecting the dots is an extremely satisfying ability that allows everyone to be their best.
While the Seattle area is certainly home, I enjoy travelling far (there have been several return trips to Japan) and near (the Oregon coast is a yearly destination where my wife and I are joined by our three grown children). But wherever I am, I look forward to talking with you about your company, your problems and your dreams.
